Requirements
You must be registered to win awards & prizes. The deadline to register online is 6:00 am on the day of the event. No registrations will take place after this deadline. You only need to fill out one (1) registration form unless you are registering more than four (4) participants. If you have more than four (4), please fill out a second form.

The 2024 Riedman Foundation Trout Derby, benefiting the Fish Hatchery at Powder Mills Park, will take place on Monday, April 1 from 7 am to noon in Powder Mills Park. There is a nominal $5 registration fee per person for participants age 9 and older (8 and under is free). Due to timing issue with US Postal Mail, all registration fees MUST be paid by PayPal or a check received by our downtown office or the Hatchery before 03/29/2024 at 3:00 pm.
The derby takes place in Powder Mills Park. The park is located in the southernmost portion of Monroe County. Enter the park from Route 96, south of Bushnell’s Basin near Interstate 490. Powder Horn Lodge serves as derby headquarters.
Following the final weigh-in at Derby headquarters at noon, prizes will be awarded in several age categories, including youth, featuring the prestigious Bank of America $500 Angler Award for largest brown trout caught. Other prizes will include:
– Private fishing charter;
– Professional rods & reels;
– Gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shop, etc.
– Fishing apparel & accessories and more
The derby will be conducted in accordance with State law; participants 16 years and older must have a valid fishing permit, trout must be 9″ or longer, and only three fish per person may be kept. The tournament will not be canceled or rescheduled due to weather conditions. No refunds will be allowed. Please be sure to read the rules and regulations of the derby at the end of this registration form.
